Hot Cross Action…

I finished up my cross bike last night.  I’m a little disappointed with the paint match on the fork, but Spectrum is going to keep working on it. It’s pretty tough to match matte powder to matte wet paint.  It will work for the Seattle Bike Expo this weekend, but the fork will have to be repainted next week.  Overall Spectrum did a great job and I’m continually impressed with their work.

Those wheels are ridiculously light.  1400 grams built up with Chris King hubs and DT Revo spokes!  The whole rig is 16.24#.  I wasn’t that worried about weight on this one.  The s-bend stays are Columbus Zona, and there isn’t a ton of carbon.  The frame ended up at 3.54, so its really the wheels that make it so light.

Thanks to Michael at Cycle Path.  He built the wheels and gave me some great final build advice.  All the guys at that shop are legit. It’s the best shop in P-town in my humble opinion.

This will be the paint scheme for the Argonaut cross team this fall.  Watch out for team Doom – Ship!
