Inside the Pas Racing Team Camp: The Road to Traka
In bike racing, the only guarantee is chaos. Success belongs to those who prepare for it. It’s not just about race-day heroics—it’s forged in the quiet, unseen hours of training, in the relentless pursuit of marginal gains, in the miles stacked when no one is watching.
That’s exactly what went down this February in Girona, Spain, where two of our riders joined the Pas Racing Team for an intensive training camp, laying the foundation for a decisive performance at The Traka in May.

Girona: A Cyclist’s Playground
Girona isn’t just another training destination—it’s a crucible. The rolling gravel roads, the relentless climbs, the fast, technical descents—it all makes for the perfect setting to push limits and refine race-day strategies. There’s a reason so many of the world’s best cyclists call this Spanish town home.
For two weeks, our riders immersed themselves in this landscape, logging long days in the saddle—finishing every ride with a soul-crushing 10-minute climb back to the team house. But every pedal stroke served a purpose. They weren’t just accumulating miles; they were learning the terrain, testing setups, and sharpening instincts. Gravel racing is unpredictable, and success belongs to those who can endure it all.
Dialing in the Perfect Setup
Training is only part of the equation. Equipment matters. Every watt saved, every inefficiency eliminated, adds up when it matters most. That’s why the team from CeramicSpeed, a Pas Racing official partner, flew to Spain to personally install the latest performance upgrades onto each athlete’s bike.
Starting with the most advanced carbon fiber frames in the world—the Argonaut GR3—it only makes sense that every component meets the same standard. That’s why we count on CeramicSpeed for drivetrain efficiency—where marginal gains become race-winning differences. Matt and Cassia were already running the latest ceramic bearings in their T47 bottom brackets and OSPW systems, but the CeramicSpeed crew took it even further, equipping their rigs with new, completely sealed-bearing oversized pulley wheels—ensuring the same buttery-smooth efficiency crossing the finish line as they had rolling out from the start, no matter the dirt encountered in between.

Building the Mental Edge
Preparation isn’t just about power numbers and aero gains. It’s about resilience.
Long training camps like this don’t just build fitness—they build the mindset to suffer, to push through the hardest moments, to thrive in the unknown. When you’re deep into a ride, legs screaming, climbing yet another unrelenting grade, you find out where your limits are. Then you push past them.
But Girona isn’t just about suffering. It’s about connection—to the sport, to the team, to the history of the roads where legends have trained. It’s an experience that transforms strong riders into the greats. We’ve already seen the dividends: Cassia’s dominance at the Tour of Vietnam with four podiums in five days, and Matt’s gritty P2 finish at Real West Gravel, hanging tough through brutal conditions.
The Road to Traka
Traka isn’t just another gravel race—it’s the battleground where the best in the world come to test themselves. And our riders won’t just be showing up. They’ll be ready to fight for the front.
From the quiet roads of training to the chaos of race day, success is built long before the starting gun. And when the moment comes, our athletes will be ready.
Stay tuned—Traka is coming. May 2nd. See you there.
