This weekend at the MADE Bike Show, we’re bringing something special to the Campagnolo booth: a one-off Argonaut RM3 that captures our past, our present, and the craft we continue to refine. MADE is more than just a show—it’s a reflection of why we build bikes the way we do. It brings together the small builders, dreamers, and obsessives who believe that bicycles are more than machines—they’re a canvas for performance and artistry.
For us, MADE is the perfect stage to show not only what we build today, but also how far we’ve come since the early days. This bike is as much about honoring our roots as it is about pushing into new territory.
Portland Roots
Argonaut began in Portland at a time when the city’s rainy streets and steel frames defined the culture of handmade bikes. Back then, our tools were torches, our material was metal, and our goal was the same as it is today: to make the best possible bike, one ride at a time. Those years shaped us. They taught us that building bikes is about more than materials—it’s about the riders who dream them into existence and the makers who obsess over every millimeter.
Relocating to Bend gave us new light, new space, and the freedom to evolve. We traded welding torches for carbon layup tools, and in doing so redefined what a handmade bike could be. But even as our materials and methods have shifted, the heart of Argonaut hasn’t changed. We’re still a small team of riders who believe a bicycle is the most personal piece of sporting equipment you’ll ever own. MADE feels like home because it celebrates exactly that spirit.
Pearl & Carbon
Our show bike for MADE is the RM3 distilled into something extraordinary. Outfitted with Campagnolo’s flagship Super Record Wireless groupset and Limited Edition Bora Ultra wheels, it’s a race-bred machine that could roll straight to the start line of a World Tour event. Every component choice is deliberate, a nod to the kind of precision and performance that inspire us daily.
But what truly sets this bike apart is its finish. The pearl white paint glows with a subtle gold flake that dances in sunlight, giving it depth and character you won’t find on any stock palette. Layered against this brilliance are exposed raw carbon leading lines—structural elements revealed by design—that shift in personality depending on your angle. From one side, the bike feels clean and elegant; from another, it pulses with raw performance energy.
This duality is what excites us: a bike that tells multiple stories at once. It’s equal parts showpiece and race machine, understated and bold, a reminder that Argonaut craftsmanship lives in the details.

Words can only take you so far. Below is a closer look at our MADE RM3—the details, the finish, and the angles that reveal its many personalities.
See It Live
No gallery of photos can capture the full presence of this bike—you have to see it in person. That’s why we’re thrilled to have it on display all weekend at the MADE Bike Show, showcased proudly in the Campagnolo booth.
If you’re attending, stop by, take in the details, and talk with Ryan from our team. He can walk you through every design choice, every material decision, and what’s possible when we design a custom Argonaut for you. Whether your dream build draws inspiration from this RM3 or takes a completely different path, our process is the same: rider-focused, performance-driven, and uncompromising in pursuit of the perfect ride.
A Final Word
From Portland rain to Bend sun, our journey has always been about progress—refining the craft, pushing materials, and staying true to the rider at the center of every build. This RM3 is both a marker of how far we’ve come and a glimpse of what’s next.
