Perfect Fit
We make custom bikes that fit you. We professionally finetune your fit in-house or using data from a local fitter and then build your ride from there. Climber, power pusher, gravel-er, sprint machine. Whoever you are, the RM3 custom road bike is right there with you.
Custom Tuning
Every Last Detail
Your Argonaut journey starts with the right RM3 custom geometry. But it continues through close relationships and collaboration. Through custom-tailored carbon layups at every junction (bottom bracket, head tube, seat tube), and unmatched finessing based on who you are and how you ride.
Tire Clearance
A modern road bike should meet the needs of where the sport is progressing. We like a little more volume to expand the range of where you can take the RM3. We stopped at 35 because after that you start to lose performance.
Front Axle
Disc brake only, thru-axle 12x100mm adds stability in the corners and reduce flex.
Rear Axle
Proven to provide more lateral stiffness, having a thru axle in the rear means that you will have better acceleration and more control in corners. We teamed up with The Robert Axle project to make our custom 12x142mm rear axles.
Headset
For precise steering and to accommodate our internal cable routing we machined Titanium headset cup for drop in bearings.
Internal Cables
Once the cables and brake hoses are out of sight you will never want to see them again.
Bottom Bracket
Threadlife™ We were unsatisfied with the pressfit standard of the 2010’s but we were in love with big spindles. So we partnered with Chris King to develop a new standard. The T47 is just that – we machined our threaded inserts that are bonded into our BB shell from titanium for the perfect integration.
Custom Carbon Tubes
When we say we harness the power of unidirectional carbon like no one else, we mean it. We tailor the stiffness of each part, from every angle—vertical, horizontal, torsional—according to your riding style. The result? A ride that transcends all expectations.
Chainstays
We believe in short chainstays. A 408mm Chainstay length will give you a lively feeling and quick acceleration. They help make a mid climb accelerations feel like finish line sprints.
Tailored for performance
At the core of your Argonaut lives your story. Throughout our custom road bike build process, we translate your specifics (weight, power output, riding style, dreams) into just the right balance of strength and stiffness for you. The result? Responsive, effortless performance that knows you inside and out.
Two Ways to go Custom
Handcrafted Your way
In order to offer the best possible custom builds, we’ve panned for gold and come up with four different options—full-custom or pre-curated in design and gruppo. Whichever Argonaut journey aligns with your specifics, your bike is guaranteed to leave our shop entirely in sync with you and spinning perfection.
Redefining Custom
Custom means far more than just unique geometry and custom paint. It means a patented molding process we’ve developed over years, enabling us to untether from the kinds of angle, headtube length, and chainstay restrictions other bike manufacturers have to adhere to. It means realizing the true potential of carbon.
Moving beyond geometry—because, yes, geometry is just the beginning—we enter into another defining element of the Argonaut custom build process layup. Whether applied to one of our proven geometries, or a geometry built for your unique body shape, riding style, and needs, layup is how we merge art and technology to yield bicycles that redefine custom.
By shifting the layup patterns across every single frame we craft, we are able to control stiffness in all directions: horizontal, vertical, and torsional. Depending on the structural end goal and rider profile associated with each build, we can add or subtract layers and/or change ply orientation to achieve that end goal. We only purchase top-of-the-line raw carbon materials directly from our suppliers—who configures them to our exact specifications—every inch of carbon that goes into our custom bike builds far exceeds industry standards.
It’s through our patented molding process and meticulous layups that we both redefine and fully embrace what it truly means to be custom.
At the end of the day, you could say we’re free—to take in all your data, information, and dreams, and create a bold new universe in the form of a custom carbon bicycle. We build you a ride unparalleled and like no one else can.
